Viral Marketing with Ease

Do any of you bloggers know anything about the viral widget called BlogRush?

Apparantly it was just launched 8 hours ago.
I found it here in the top of the right column at this Ning site.

It's supposed to give you reciprical traffic based on reading the content of your page like Adsense does (but it doesn't pay anything, just gives free traffic).

It says you actually get like 10x or more traffic back, due to some exponential growth aspect of it. (multi tier affiliate based on who signs under you?)

Does this kind of thing really work? I wouldn't say no to free traffic.

    my thought is this:
    -it only takes 5 minutes to paste the script
    -set it and forget it, no maintanance
    -it's free
    -so why not try?

    they claim potential of 10x or even 100x traffic.
    that would be true if you had a list of 500 people to email to, but I don't.

    I've just posted in a few forums and some people must have used my url, cuz in the last 8 hours, my site traffic is 5x what it normally is. That sounds amazing I know but normally it's fairly low (hundreds of hits a day, not tens of thousands) just because it's a new site.

How can I build awareness and traffic to Save the Gulf?

Pepsi Refresh has allocated more funding to help the environment and the economy of the gulf. I have a project I made a video for http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEKKYUO47… and want to get it out and build as much public awareness as I can for it.

You guys can look and see I have answered many questions in my time on here and am now asking for your help. How can I make this video viral and get traffic to it so I can help out the people of the Gulf of Mexico?

  • I absolutely hate these types of programs where you have to build your downline and blahblahblah. They were an absolute waste of my life. If you want to make real money online, do your research on affiliate programs, set up a website, add CONTENT, bring in traffic, blahblahblah. That whole thing.

  • Depending on the link exchange programs you are using you will never get proper link exposer to your site. You will also not get targeted traffic to your site. Has anyone ever successfully started a DoS attack via a viral campaign?

I'm not talking about a Distributed malware DoS attack. I'm simply referring to an intended denial of service that is created using only viral techniques to create a massive upsurge in traffic for the target web server. It'll be interesting to know if anyone can create such a viral buzz for the sole purpose of bringing a website down.

If it has been done or rather if it can be done, I'd imagine it will need a community such as 4chan behind it to start the viral campaign.
